National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1945, as the oldest symphony orchestra in Taiwan. National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra, with rich experiences, seeks excellence and stay update with time in addition to professional performance and training, has made concrete results and contribution to improvement of spiritual life of country people, promotion of art development and international cultural exchange. National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra is also the pioneer of large music festivals in Taiwan with famous operas performed in the past years including: La Traviata, Rogiletto, and Der Freischutz; large operas composed by the country people: the 100th Bride, Skylark of Tang-Shan, Xi Shi and dance drama Dream of Dun-Huang.
In the past six decades, numerous international teams and artists have been invited to perform with the Orchestra. Among which are some world-renowned Chinese stars: Fu Comg, Cheng Pihsien, Tan Dan etc. In international exchange, besides inviting domestic and overseas famous conductors such as Henry Mazer, Michael Rochat and Frederick Fennell, we also invited Russian State Ballet, Szeged Symphonic Orchestra, Hungary, and National Symphonic Orchestra, Romania to perform in Taiwan.
In the past years, National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra strived for diverse art directions in search of 'delicacy' and 'popularity'. At the moment, we are working on making the place of the Orchestra into a cultural park for the youth... Please, visit the web site for more info.
